Short Answer: This can be caused by a couple of things. - Hidden status in the manager.
- This is an order which never got completed by the shopper, and is by design.
Detailed Explanation: These settings (sort, and statuses to show) can be found on the orders page. Be sure you have all the statuses enabled (under “Status to show”),
otherwise, those orders with hidden statuses will not be displayed.
This applies to searching orders as well. If you are browsing orders,
be sure that your orders are set to sort by date.” When the shopper goes to place an order with a credit card, the
shopping cart software sends the order information over to the
gateway. The gateway requires us to send over an order ID, so this is
the moment that we generate an order number in our software (or you
might say, reserve it). Now, if the shopper happens to abandon
their order at that point, then that order never shows up on the orders
list in the manager. However, you can recover abandoned orders
since the shopping cart software can be set to email you every time an
order attempt fails—in your gateway settings. You might then ask,
can’t you reset that order number to be used again? You never know if
that customer might come back tomorrow and complete their order, so
that means the shopping cart software can’t ever use that order number
again.
