These  are very similar, yet with the difference that cancelling an order restocks  inventory.

Detailed Explanation:

In other words,  you should click “cancel order” if you want to restock the inventory associated  with that order. So, if you are not using inventory tracking feature in the  cart, then you should just click DELETE ORDER.  In other words, clicking “cancel  order” will take any items in that order, and add those amounts back into the  inventory.

E.g. you have 13 shirts, the  shopper orders 3, which leaves you with 10.   When you cancel the order the 3 shirts will update your inventory from  10, back up to 13.  If you just delete  the order instead, then your inventory will just remain at 10.
